Cutting hard. Making the extra pass. Reading the defense. Screening. Shooting.
The Orlando Magic have struggled with those offensive fundamentals.
So how can the Magic make their offense more productive?
One possibility: pushing the pace.
In their half-court offense, coach Frank Vogel wants his players to get into their sets earlier, which would allow more time for the players to move the ball from side-to-side and search for high-quality shots.
And, of course, Vogel wants his team to speed upcourt whenever his players collect defensive rebounds. Offenses have an advantage when opposing defenses aren't set, and the Magic need to utilize that advantage whenever possible.
