ORLANDO – Inspired by a post-practice pep talk from one of the greatest shooters in franchise history, the Orlando Magic went out and put on the kind of shooting showcase on Friday night that had to be pleasing for former forward Rashard Lewis.
Lewis, who chose Orlando in free agency back in 2007 and served as a guiding force on the Magic team that reached the 2009 NBA Finals with his dead-eye 3-point shooting, talked to the franchise’s current-day players on Friday morning about ``consistency and approach.’’
The Magic apparently took the message to heart and then systematically took apart the slumping Washington Wizards for three quarters and hung on in the fourth for a 117-108 victory at the Amway Center.
