The Orlando Magic are expected to make a decision on the location of their new D-League franchise within the next 30 days, Magic CEO Alex Martins told Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.
The Magic have long sought a D-League franchise closer to Orlando, having had a one-to-one relationship with the Erie Bayhawks in Pennsylvania. That distance made it difficult for the Magic to use the D-League as a place to develop young talent simply for geographic reasons.
Orlando narrowed its list of potential sites for a D-League team down to two sites — the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee and the Lakeland Center in Lakeland.
