The Orlando Magic likely made their final roster cut Friday after their 86-76 win over the Memphis Grizzlies, waiving forward Nnanna Egwu.
Egwu appeared in only five preseason games for the Magic, scoring six points and grabbing 16 rebounds (3.2 per game). That included an offensive rebound putback to force overtime against the Miami Heat in Orlando.
Egwu was largely seen as a promising, developing big man with a penchant for blocking shots. He had two blocks with the Magic in the preseason.
He just did not get his time and it was pretty clear he was not going to be part of the Magic’s plans for this year at least.
