The Orlando Magic are set to sign Keith Appling to a contract, reports Shams Charania of RealGM.
After a four-year carer at Michigan State, Appling went undrafted in 2014 and went to training camp with the Los Angeles Lakers. He didn't make the squad and spent the ensuing season with the Erie BayHawks, the Magic's NBA D-League affiliate. In 38 appearances, Appling shot 40.2 percent from the floor en route to averaging 10.9 points, three rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.
Appling was more productive playing for Orlando's surprisingly successful White team--a group featuring journeyman prospects without NBA deals--in the Orlando Pro Summer League, scoring 15.
