Because the status quo obviously isn’t working and the Orlando Magic will soon name their fifth coach in the last seven seasons, maybe they should dare to be different and hire Spurs assistant Becky Hammon as the first female head coach in NBA history.
Hammon has learned under the NBA’s best coach, Gregg Popovich, who is one of many endorsing her as a head-coaching candidate. Others who have advocated the idea of a female head coach in the NBA include LeBron James and NBA commissioner Adam Silver.
