The Orlando Magic intend to offer Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin their top front office job — president of basketball operations — Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com reports.
The Magic’s general manager search has focused very quickly on experienced candidates. And it appears the team is planning on having an overarching president of basketball operations with a general manager underneath him.
In the last 24 hours, several big names have been attached to the Magic’s open job. The team reportedly plan to reach out to Kevin McHale and sent out some feelers to Larry Bird, who resigned as the Indiana Pacers president of basketball operations.
