The Orlando Magic released Melvin Ejim following Wednesday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Ejim appeared in four preseason games, averaging 3.5 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game in about eight minutes per game.
Ejim gained a camp invite after impressing Magic officials at Summer League and then again during Canada’s play at the Pan Am Games and FIBA Americas Championship. Ejim showed himself in those environments as an intriguing two-way player who could score and defend on the wing but also play in the post and rebound.
He was an intriguing prospect and the Magic wanted to bring him in and see if he could crack the roster.
