Drew Crawford looked at the ref quizzically. He didn't argue or even scowl.
There was one minute, 23 seconds left in regulation, and his Magic Blue team was facing the Memphis Grizzlies in a close summer-league game on Tuesday.
Crawford had been called for a charge.
"I have to look at the film," he grinned. "I think he kind of slid under me, but that's one of the ones you got to roll with."
Crawford usually just rolls his eyes when he disagrees with officials.
He not only understands what they're going through — like the players, these are refs-in-training — but Drew grew up with whistles as his life's soundtrack.
