NEW YORK — Jason Smith spent just one season with the New York Knicks, but when he walked onto the Madison Square Garden court for warm-ups around 5:50 on Monday afternoon, he greeted plenty of old friends.
Returning to New York for the Orlando Magic's game against the Knicks was a happy occasion for Smith, who played in all 82 games of the Knicks' games last season and has emerged as a key contributor off the bench for Orlando.
Before tipoff Monday, Smith acknowledged it was tough to leave the Knicks via free agency in July.
