The Orlando Magic have contacted the Cleveland Cavaliers in hopes of receive permission to interview David Griffin for their vacant general manager position, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, who says Cleveland has yet to respond to the request.
The Magic are one of two teams, joining the Atlanta Hawks, with a vacancy at the top of their basketball operations department. Landing Griffin, who helped build the Cavaliers into a championship organization, would be a boon to a club in the midst of a five-year postseason drought, the longest in franchise history.
