The Magic would have to waive either Karim Mané or Jordan Bone to open a two-way spot for Mason, who was the NBA G League MVP last season.
Bone played 17 minutes in Tuesday’s 123-108 loss to the Toronto Raptors, while Mané is with the Lakeland Magic preparing for the upcoming G League season in the Disney bubble.
Mason’s presence would add depth to a Magic team decimated by injuries this season. Starting point guard Markelle Fultz is out for the season with a torn ACL, while reserve guard Michael Carter-Williams has missed the past 13 games with a sprained left foot.
