In, say, 2013 A.D. (After Dwight), a little losing streak by the Magic wouldn't have been a big deal.

Everyone would shrug because losing was part of the deal.

For a while, it was not only accepted, but encouraged.

Now?

Defeats are setting off alarms.

There's angst through team and town.

The new coach has a scowl, pledging to stop the backslide, threatening to bench the ball boys. Players are genuinely troubled, whereas in previous seasons, misplacing their Gucci bag was a larger concern.

This is good. This is different.
