The Orlando Magic culminated their celebration of Black History Month with numerous in-game activities Saturday night at Amway Center.
The Magic honored Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings as a Social Justice Game Changer and recognized the accomplishments and contributions of African Americans across Central Florida during Saturday’s game against the Utah Jazz.
The Magic also hosted local African-American community leaders. Various organizations, including the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, Black Business Initiative Fund, Black-owned business honorees and Valencia College Poetry Slam winners, were featured during the game.
Demings is the latest recipient — and 16th honoree overall — of the Social Justice Game Changer honor.
