ORLANDO – Even though they currently rank 12th in defensive rating, the Orlando Magic believe they will rise in that category as the season goes on.
Monday’s defensive effort, in which the Magic held the Chicago Bulls to 39.8 percent shooting, is another example of why it’s certainly possible they will ultimately prove to be a top five defensive team in the league.
The Magic have now held their opponent to under 40 percent shooting eight times this season, just one less than all of last season when they had the NBA’s eighth best defense.
