Magic enter NBA draft in search of an offensive spark

Orlando Magic are positioned to make their first pick of the NBA draft in the middle of the pack for the second consecutive season.

Last year, Orlando used the 16th overall pick to select forward Chuma Okeke, who sat out the season while recovering from an ACL injury. Okeke signed his rookie-scale contract on Monday and he’ll start carving out a role with the Magic moving forward.

For the 2020 NBA Draft, the Magic are slated to pick at No. 15. Draft coverage begins at 8 p.m. Wednesday on ESPN.

Under president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman and general manager John Hammond, the Magic have focused on length in the draft and tried to build the roster around defense.
