CHARLOTTE – Being that they are Southeast Division rivals, the Orlando Magic and the Charlotte Hornets know each other intimately and usually play four hotly contested games a season.
But the awareness of the opponent goes even deeper than just the competition level because of there are so many long-standing friendships and former ties to the other team between the Magic and Hornets.
Orlando’s Jeff Green and Charlotte’s Roy Hibbert were roommates together 13 years ago during their freshmen seasons at Georgetown University. Center Bismack Biyombo and guard Kemba Walker were rookies together in Charlotte in 2011, and both became close friends during what Walker called ``those rough years here.
