Team USA selected Lakeland Magic guard Rodney Purvis to the roster pool for its training camp ahead of its next round of FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, the team announced Thursday. The training camp will take place Feb. 15-20 with the games taking place Feb. 23 and 26 against Cuba and Puerto Rico in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purvis has been one of the Magic’s top players this year. He has averaged a team-high 20.3 points per game and shot 42.3 percent from the floor including 37.8 percent from beyond the arc. Purvis has turned in some big performances with clutch shots too, scoring a season-high 40 points in a December game against the Westchester Knicks.
