Orlando Magic General Manager Rob Hennigan told me something peculiar the other day.
He said, “Hope is not a strategy.”
This is a good thing.
Because there doesn’t seem to be any in sight.
Not after five years – five long, languishing, depressing, even regressing years – of losing.
This is why Rob Hennigan must soon be replaced.
Hope is gone.
He has failed.
There is no other way to look at it.
His rebuild has failed.
His rebuild of the rebuild has failed.
Now it’s time to rebuild his rebuilt rebuild.
