Let’s not pretend to know if Jeff Weltman, the Orlando Magic’s new president of basketball operations, is a great hire.
You don’t know.
I don’t know.
And, most importantly, the Magic don’t know.
How could they?
Weltman has never actually run his own team. Even though he was the Toronto Raptors general manager, he worked under Masai Ujiri, the Raptors’ highly respected president of basketball operations.
That said, at least Jeff Weltman is not Rob Hennigan.
Hallelujah, he’s not Rob Hennigan!
