In an effort to prevent a senseless injury, the Orlando Magic have decided to shut down roster players Aaron Gordon, Mario Hezonja and Elfrid Payton for the remainder of the Orlando Pro Summer League.
Gordon, Hezonja and Payton will not play when the Magic's "Blue" team plays its final two games on Thursday and Friday.
The decision makes perfect sense. Whatever Gordon, Hezonja and Payton could gain from playing the remainder of this week simply doesn't outweigh the potential risks of a freak injury or needless wear-and-tear.
The trio has nothing left to prove.
Gordon, a second-year combo forward, arguably has been the league's best all-around player.
