Overwhelming praise descended on the Orlando Magic when the team hired Frank Vogel as its new coach Friday. Almost a week after Scott Skiles resigned the position, the franchise signed a proven winner as Skiles' successor. The Magic took an awful situation and produced as satisfying an outcome as possible.
Rest assured, the Magic will "win" their press conference when they introduce Vogel early Monday afternoon. Vogel has stellar credentials and is highly respected within the NBA coaching community. He won 58 percent of his regular-season games with the Indiana Pacers and likely would've reached the NBA Finals twice if LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat hadn't stood in the Pacers' way.
