Perimeter defense is one of the areas coach Frank Vogel wants the Orlando Magic shore up as they prepare for their season opener.
"I think we're stronger with our front line right now and rim protection and our defensive presence in the paint than we are on the perimeter," Vogel said. "I've challenged our perimeter guys to improve with their containment and staying with guys, chasing off screens and those types of things."
The Magic's perimeter defense was especially deficient in their 107-77 preseason loss to the Miami Heat. Orlando will host Miami in the season opener on Wednesday.
