The Orlando Magic will open the 2020-21 season against the defending Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat.
The NBA released the first-half portion (Dec. 22-March 4) of its schedule on Friday. The second half will be released at a future date as the league waits to see how the coronavirus pandemic affects the schedule.
The game between the Magic and Heat will mark the fourth time in the past five seasons the teams have met in the opener. Orlando beat Miami in 2017 and 2018, with Miami winning in 2016.
After playing the Heat, the Magic will play three consecutive road games, including a back-to-back in Washington, D.
