The young Croatia squad finally heard the bell toll and saw their tournament end in a 80-59 loss to the Czech Republic, in a mild upset.
Croatia undoubtedly had the talent throughout the tournament to make some noise (maybe not win, but certainly make some noise). They played pretty decently but not great throughout the group play round, finishing in second. Mario Hezonja played a role in that with his inconsistent play.
It all seemed to fall apart for them against the Czech Republic though. That inexperience came to the forefront.
Croatia committed 24 turnovers and fell behind by 17 points at the half.
