With the Orlando Magic's regular-season opener looming Wednesday night, point guard Elfrid Payton sounds optimistic that his sore right hamstring finally is on the mend.
Payton participated in the non-contact portions of the Orlando Magic's practice Sunday afternoon and said afterward that his hamstring is feeling better.
"This is my third day feeling good, so I'm pretty confident that we're moving in the right direction," Payton said.
If Payton continues to progress, it's unclear what role he'd play in Wednesday's opener against the Washington Wizards. Payton was ineffective in Orlando's second and third preseason exhibitions, mostly due to foul trouble, and the hamstring injury prevented him from playing in the final five exhibitions.
