Howard, the former Orlando Magic star who blossomed as a role player with the Los Angeles Lakers before the coronavirus pandemic shut down play, flirted with skipping games played at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
He joined Kyrie Irving as a vocal advocate for players considering skipping NBA games to focus on social justice issues or their families. Howard later said he was not telling players to boycott the tournament, but simply urging his peers to use their voices more frequently.
Still, his status was up in the air until he appeared on “CNN Tonight with Don Lemon” on Monday night.
