ORLANDO – Chad Forcier has been credited with helping Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker become superstar players by none other than San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, and now the Orlando Magic assistant’s next project is promising, 19-year-old forward Jonathan Isaac.
The 6-foot-10, 210-pound rookie’s time in the Mountain Dew Orlando Pro Summer League is over because of a mild hip strain, but Forcier saw more than enough in five practice sessions and three games to know that Isaac’s future is incredibly bright if he continues to work and blossom. Isaac’s 7-foot-3 wingspan, his 9-foot-2 standing reach and his abilities to dominate games defensively have already reminded some of Leonard – a comparison that Forcier shies away from so as to not heaps loads of unnecessary pressure on teenager who is still three months from playing his first official NBA game.
