As roster reboot begins, Magic face Trail Blazers with limited lineup

The Magic will have that familiar short-handed look as they close out a three-game homestand against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night at Amway Center.

Orlando shook up its roster Thursday after trading five players — Al-Farouq Aminu, Gary Clark, Evan Fournier, Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic — in three separate deals. The four players the Magic acquired — Wendell Carter Jr., R.J. Hampton, Gary Harris and Otto Porter Jr. — are undergoing physical exams Friday afternoon and are not ready to play.

Plus, Magic coach Steve Clifford said shooting guard Terrence Ross is still not ready to play because of a sore right knee, leaving the team with eight available players against the Trail Blazers (26-18), who are coming off a 125-122 win Thursday in Miami.
