It is no secret the Orlando Magic have been a relatively poor shooting team the past few years. In 2017, the franchise finished tied for dead last in 3-point percentage, with a team percentage of 32.7 percent. Worse still, they finished 29th in effective field goal percentage — only 0.1 percent ahead of the last-place Chicago Bulls.
The new Magic regime has been looking to change that.
After reportedly bringing in sweet-shooting big-man Marreese Speights, Orlando went out and acquired swingman Arron Afflalo on Tuesday. The deal, which will see Afflalo join on a one-year deal worth the veteran’s minimum, brings the 31-year old back to the team which saw the best days of his career.
