The Orlando Magic completed the first phase of their offseason last week with the NBA Draft. That day and the moves — or lack thereof — set the table for what is next and perhaps gave a clue about which direction the Magic were going.
They opted to focus their draft energy on bolstering the backcourt.
They picked guard Anthony Black and wing Jett Howard. Both players should be able to play any of the wing positions, so the positional nomenclature probably does not do them much justice. But the Magic seemingly filled their need for guard depth and some shooting with their draft.
