When it came to three-point shooting, Orlando Magic forward Dennis Scott may have been before his time. On this day 25 years ago, he broke the NBA’s single-game record for made three-pointers.
It had been nearly a month since Scott had broken the single-season record for made three-pointers. Scott proceeded to break the league’s single-game record when he knocked down 11 treys in a 119-104 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
The Magic were at the Orlando Arena for the final time during the regular season as the Hawks came to town on April 18, 1996. It was the three-pointer that Orlando used to seize control from the start.
