Winter Park’s girls bowling team warmed up for the state tournament with an undefeated regular season followed by a district meet championship.
The Wildcats stayed sizzling hot in Tuesday’s qualifying phase of the Florida High School Athletic Association championships at Orlando’s Boardwalk Bowl Entertainment Center.
Winter Park racked up four of the five highest games recorded by the 25 competing teams to win the qualifying stage with a pin total of 3,645.
Jevannie Zapeda bowled an 808 four-game series to lead the Wildcats. Teammate Riley Stone opened with a 234 game and finished with a 749 set.
