Postseason penalty kicks over a span of five days in February provided moments of elation and disappointment for Winter Park’s girls soccer team.
The Wildcats ended Oviedo’s streak of six consecutive district championships by winning a 4-3 shootout vs. the Lions Feb. 11 for the Class 7A District 4 title. The triumph came after Winter Park defeated Hagerty 5-1 in the semifinal round.
The celebration was short-lived though as Winter Park finished in a scoreless tie Feb. 16 against Boone and lost 3-2 loss on PKs in a regional quarterfinal.
