It’s been a month since Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had the worst performance of his rookie season.
Tagovailoa has rebounded nicely since the team’s 20-13 loss on the road against the Denver Broncos on Nov. 22, when he was benched for 16-year veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter.
After missing a game due to a thumb injury, Tagovailoa threw for career highs of 296 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 6 and 316 yards against Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 13.
And despite throwing his second career interception, Tagovailoa became the first rookie quarterback to beat a Bill Belichick defense since 2013, when he completed 20 of 26 passes for 145 yards with two rushing touchdowns against the New England Patriots last week.
