Wekiva High School announced the hiring of former Edgewater running back Jeremiah Rodriguez-Schwartz as its new head football coach in a social media post Thursday morning.
Schwartz, a 2008 Edgewater graduate who played collegiately at Iowa State and Hampton University, spent the past three seasons as offensive coordinator at Orangewood Christian under Bill Gierke, his former high school coach. Schwartz also served as an Oak Ridge assistant in 2017 following stops at Miami Norland and Hialeah Gardens.
Schwartz landed his first head coaching gig this week after previously applying for vacancies at Oviedo, Seminole, East Ridge and Lyman over the past year.
