COLUMBUS, Oh— Starting a new job is never easy, but it looked that way for Vlatko Andonovski as the new coach of the US Women’s National team saw his squad come out on top of Sweden SCORE to SCORE.
It was the first match against Sweden since the 2019 Women’s World Cup victory, and the USWNT didn’t waste any time. Captain Carli Lloyd found the back of the net in the fifth minute to begin the scoring, with the assist from Christen Press. In the 28th minute, the two would switch with Press scoring on an assist from Lloyd.
