The Utah Royals announced player comings and goings Monday, adding defender Taylor Leach to the squad while confirming the retirement of midfielder Erika Tymrak.
Tymrak was part of the National Women’s Soccer League’s first rookie class, and she was picked in the second round by FC Kansas City after playing at the college level for the University of Florida.
After a six goal, four assist season, Tymrak was named the league’s first Rookie of the Year. She won the NWSL Championship with the club in 2014 and 2015, and remained with Kansas City until the club folded in 2017 with loan stints in Germany with Bayern Munich and Australia with Melbourne City in between.
