Tim Howard is back. He’s back on the pitch and he’s back between the sticks.

The former U.S. men’s national team goalkeeper announced Wednesday — two days shy of his 41st birthday — that he will play this season for the USL Championship club that he co-owns, Memphis 901 FC.

Howard – who holds the World Cup record for most saves in a single match with 15 – is also the sporting director at the second-year USL side. In addition to now becoming the team’s goalkeeper, he will continue in his roles as a minority owner and as the sporting director.
