USMNT defender Antonee Robinson joins Italian giant AC Milan

American centerback Antonee Robinson is reportedly joining AC Milan on the penultimate day of the January transfer window.

The Italian Serie A giant acquired Robinson, 22, from England’s Wigan Athletic, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Robinson, who has made seven appearances for the United States men’s national team, is only the fourth American player over the age of 20 to sign with a Serie A team in the last 25 years.

Former USMNT defender Alexi Lalas represented Padova from 1994-96. Defender Oguchi Onyewu played for AC Milan from 2009-11. And midfielder Michael Bradley, who currently plays for Toronto FC, played for Chievo Verona from 2011-12 before spending 2012-14 with AS Roma.
