USF coach Jeff Scott understands the enormous challenge facing his team this Saturday against No. 13 Florida at Raymond James Stadium.
The Gators (1-0, 0-0 SEC) are 28-point favorites after dispatching FAU, 35-14 last weekend. The team amassed 553 yards of total offense, including 400 yards on the ground with tailback Malik Davis and backup quarterback Anthony Richardson rushing for more than 100 yards each.
“If you sit there and stare at them, they’re going to win the beauty contest for sure,” said Scott. “Their size and athleticism, we can’t get distracted by that we really have to stay focused on us.
