With the 2019 schedule behind both the United States men’s and women’s national teams, U.S. Soccer announced Tuesday the nominees for its Male and Female Player of the Year awards.
The six Female Player of the Year nominees were members of the team that won the World Cup in France. The tournament’s Golden Ball and Golden Boot winner Megan Rapinoe was joined by Bronze Ball winner Rose Lavelle and Silver Boot winner Alex Morgan. Julie Ertz, who with them was part of the FIFPro World 11, as well as Alyssa Naeher and Carli Lloyd were nominated.
