Miami Hurricanes safety Bubba Bolden on Monday was named to the watch list for the 2021 Chuck Bednarik Award, which is annually presented to college football’s most outstanding defensive player.
Bolden, a redshirt junior, is coming off a 2020 season in which he was named a second-team All-ACC selection and a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award — which is awarded to college football’s most outstanding defensive back — after leading UM with 74 total tackles last year.
He finished 2020 with 6.5 tackles for loss and a sack to go along with a team-best four forced fumbles, three pass breakups and one interception.
