GAINESVILLE — Expected to be the UF quarterback of the future, backup Emory Jones continues to wait his turn behind Gators starter Kyle Trask.
Coach Dan Mullen said Jones is growing within the offense and offers a different twist when executing plays due to his dual-threat abilities. The change of pace from Trask offers the Gators a chance further experiment with a two-QB system in 2020.
“I think he’s much more comfortable with everything going on that’s out there. I think we have a lot of confidence in him,” Mullen said Thursday of Jones. “Certainly what’s kind of fun is you see Kyle in there, and he’ll run a play a certain way.
