GAINESVILLE — UF defensive lineman Gervon Dexter was the one person at the Swamp least surprised by backup quarterback Anthony Richardson’s highlight-reel showing Saturday night against FAU.
Dexter, a physical marvel himself at 6-foot-6, 303 pounds, has been awed Richardson since the two were sixth-graders on the same Gainesville basketball team.
“He’s just always just been super-athletic, crazy hops, all of that,” Dexter said following Tuesday’s practice. “So it was like, that was expected from him.”
Redshirt senior defensive end Zach Carter has gone up enough against Richardson running the second-team offense to know anything is possible and will be going forward.
