While the Knights remained one of the most productive and explosives offenses in the country last season, the defense suffered through one of its worst seasons in recent memory. The team finished No. 123 in the country in total defense, allowing 491 yards per game in 2020.
When new coach Gus Malzahn was hired in February, he made it abundantly clear that defense would be a crucial element in helping UCF reach its goal of winning championships. His commitment hasn’t wavered heading into fall camp.
“It’s a very important fall camp for our defense and Travis [Williams] understands that and he’s looking forward to it,” Malzahn said.
