New UCF coach Gus Malzahn has hired Herb Hand, another former Auburn assistant who will join him as the Knights’ new offensive line coach.
Hand, 53, spent two seasons as the offensive line coach with the Tigers as part of Malzahn’s staff from 2016-17. He most recently was coaching the offensive line at Charlotte as part of Will Healy’s staff.
Hand joins new UCF defensive coordinator Travis Williams, who became the first coach to join Malzahn’s staff Wednesday. The pair worked together for a brief time at Auburn when Williams was the linebackers coach before moving into the co-defensive coordinator position.
