“I was a teller and before that I was a waitress with Applebee’s,” she says, “and I was homeless.”
Tiffany Adams is a mother of three. One of her children is making a name for himself as a freshman on the UCF men’s basketball team. But she remembers when it was nearly impossible to make ends meet.
“I would go pick them up and then on nights I was feeling brave enough to sneak back into the apartment, I would,” she said, recalling sneaking past her landlord after her eviction. “And the nights that I was not brave enough to do that, we stayed in the car.
