Anthony Montalvo’s relentless effort and dedication to the defensive tackle position drew praise from the UCF coaching staff, earning the Tampa native and former walk-on a scholarship last season.
The ensuing offseason has been unlike any other. Montalvo is now excited to get back on the field Saturday when the team takes on Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
The defensive line was a point of emphasis when coach Josh Heupel took over the program in 2018, with the staff focusing on building depth. UCF signed 18 players in its recruiting classes from 2018-20, including Randy Charlton and Tre’mon Morris Brash.
