UCF basketball shows improvement but falls at Memphis

UCF gave Memphis a tougher fight Wednesday night, but the Tigers still walked away with their second win over the Knights this season.

D.J. Jeffries had 11 points for Memphis (11-6, 7-3 American Athletic Conference), which earned its fifth consecutive home victory. Alex Lomax added six assists.

Darius Perry had 18 points for the Knights (4-9, 2-8). C.J. Walker added 15 points and seven rebounds. Darin Green Jr. had 13 points.

UCF delivered steady scoring and shot 48.4% in the second half, but Memphis countered by shooting 62.5% during the same stretch. The Knights lost the rebounding battle 35-29 and gave up 21 turnovers.
